Product Description
The SLV Rusty Slot 50 Post Light uses a cast FeCSi-steel in its construction, which is a type of 'weathering steel' that forms a tight oxidised layer (i.e. rust) to protect against further atmospheric corrosion. Unlike other steels the rust doesn't flake; instead it seals the core material and arrests corrosion, regenerating wherever necessary if the surface is scratched or breached.
Because the Rusty Slot 50 Post Light is subject to a natural rusting process, the type and colour of the outer oxidation layer can, depending on location and influence of weather, develop differently. This process enhances the uniqueness of each light fitting. Should you decide to order these lights in plural, you can expect variations in surface finish with every unit.
Beautifully designed, the Rusty Slot 50 Post Light is effectively a garden downlight. It projects an attractive pool of light downwards onto paths, and driveways, with the original warm output of any lamp being enhanced by the rusty diagonal surface that reflects its light.

The SLV Rusty Slot 50 Post is a Class 2 double-insulated fitting that requires no connection to electrical earth during installation. This makes it suitable for older properties where no earthed electrical circuit is present.
Bulb requirements
The Rusty Slot 50 Post accommodates a maximum 48 x 135mm 11W Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) with an E27 Edison Screw cap (available separately). An equivalent LED lamp may also be used (typically around 6W) for even greater energy-efficiency.
