About 1 Circuit Track Accessories

The right track lighting accessories are what turn a length of track and a handful of spotlights into a properly finished, fully functional installation. Our collection covers everything you need to complete a 1 circuit setup, from feed connectors and track lighting end caps to joiners, corner pieces, and suspension systems. All components here are designed to work with our 1 circuit track lights, so compatibility is never a concern. If you're building out a more complex system, see our 3 circuit track accessories range.

What Track Lighting Parts Do You Need?

At a minimum, every single circuit installation requires a feed connector. This is the component that connects the track to your mains supply and delivers power along its full length. Without it, nothing switches on.

Beyond that, each open end of the track needs a track lighting end cap to safely cover the exposed conductors. These are small components, but skipping them leaves live parts exposed, which is a safety issue no installation should accept.

One of the real advantages of a track system over fixed fittings is that it can be shaped to suit the room, not the other way around. Track light connectors let you join multiple lengths of track together and change direction as needed.

A straight joiner extends a run in a single line. An L-connector turns a corner at 90 degrees, useful for running track around the perimeter of a kitchen or retail space. A T-connector branches a run in three directions, and an X-connector creates a four-way intersection for larger, more complex layouts.

Each of these track light connectors carries the electrical supply through the join as well as physically connecting the sections, so your lighting circuit runs seamlessly across the entire installation.

For installations on higher ceilings, or in spaces where having the track flush to the ceiling isn't practical or desirable, suspension systems allow the track to hang at a set distance below the ceiling on cables or rods.

All the 1 circuit track accessories in this range are available with next working day delivery, and orders over £70 qualify for free delivery from Lyco.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which track lighting accessories do I need to complete a basic 1 circuit installation?

For a straightforward single-length installation, you need three things in addition to your track and spotlight heads: a feed connector (to connect the track to your mains supply), two track lighting end caps (one for each open end of the track), and the appropriate ceiling fixings for your surface type.

If your installation requires more than one length of track joined together, you'll also need straight joiners or corner connectors depending on the layout. It's worth listing out your full track layout before ordering to make sure you have every component accounted for.

Are track lighting accessories brand-specific, or will they work across different systems?

Track systems are not universally compatible. Different manufacturers produce track to different dimensional standards, meaning a connector or head designed for one brand's track may not fit correctly in another brand's system.

The accessories in this collection are designed to be compatible with our 1 circuit track range. If you're adding to an existing installation from a different supplier, it's important to confirm the track type and standard before ordering components.

Can I use a T-connector or L-connector to extend an existing track lighting system?

Yes, provided the connector is compatible with your existing track. Track light connectors serve a dual purpose: they physically join track sections together and carry the electrical supply between them, so the entire run stays on a single circuit.

L-connectors turn the track at a right angle, T-connectors branch it in three directions, and straight joiners simply extend a run in a line. All of these allow you to build out a more complex layout without any additional wiring, as long as the total load across the track stays within the maximum rated wattage.

What is a track lighting feed connector, and where does it go?

A track lighting feed connector is the component that connects your track system to the mains electrical supply. It inserts into one end of the track and is wired directly into a ceiling rose or junction box by a qualified electrician. The feed connector delivers live and neutral power to the copper conductors running along the inside of the track, which in turn supply each spotlight head. Without it, the track has no power source.

Some installations use a mid-track or floating canopy feed instead of an end feed, which is common when the ceiling rose is positioned above the middle of a track run rather than at one end.
