LED Battens
Long batten strip lights have been a mainstay of office and industrial lighting for years – and it makes sense, because they provide great amounts of brightness, at a low cost. They provide bright, functional lighting, and fixtures have been available in a range of lengths – from just one foot (30cm) to 6 feet (183cm), and in neutral casings of grey, silver, and white.
LED lights are super-efficient, requiring tiny amounts of power and offering savings on running costs, but LEDs also last far longer than their fluorescent predecessors. Because they don’t need replacing nearly as often, they are more convenient for businesses, and better for the planet too.
The smaller amounts of power that LEDs need make it much easier to install emergency lighting too, which is a key consideration for all workplaces. Those lower levels of power required can be stored in a smaller battery, and offer hours of backup lighting – normally plenty of time to secure an area during a power outage.
Where LED battens need to be installed in areas that are exposed to the weather, there are styles that are non-corrosive, weatherproof, and double insulated – so you can keep working, even where the LED batten light is facing the outdoors. In areas that aren’t used as often, there are LED battens that have PIR sensors, so that the light is triggered to switch on when movement is detected.
If you’re choosing an LED batten that is to be used in office settings, there are different light temperatures available – so you can choose a cool white, or daylight temperature where brightness is key, or a warm white where the light doesn’t need to be quite so harsh. Where the flexibility to choose is necessary, then an LED batten that you can choose the light colour temperature is a great choice.
