Hereford Wall Hanging Lantern

The Hereford Wall Hanging Lantern is a traditionally styled, round-shaped lantern, solidly constructed from black die-cast aluminium. Clear glass panes allow an unobstructed transmission of light and easy view of the bulb. With its IP43 rating this fitting protects against light sprays of water, though we recommend a sheltered outdoor position like a porch to avoid harsher weather.

Supplied with a standard wall bracket, a special corner-mounting bracket can be acquired for this fitting by contacting our sales team. Replacement glass panes are also available. For easy creation of a harmonised lighting scheme, Lyco also sell other items in the Hereford range.

Bulb requirements

The Hereford Wall Hanging Lantern accommodates a 100W maximum GLS bulb (sold separately) with an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap.

Since original incandescent bulbs have been largely banned by EU legislation, Lyco recommend an energy-saving halogen alternative for this fitting. This will normally use 20-30% less energy than a regular incandescent lamp, as well as offering twice the lifespan.

Alternatively, the Hereford Lantern is an ideal candidate for a decorative-filament bulb. These relatively low-wattage bulbs are made with an attractive patterned filament, and are designed primarily for their mood-enhancing effect.

LED bulbs are generally not recommended for use with this fitting, as the majority of them have less traditional or decorative appeal than filament lamps.
