Robus Fixed Downlight - White

The Robus Fixed Downlight has a strong die-cast aluminium construction and finished in white to complement most ceilings. A 'twist and lock' front bezel is incorporated for quick and easy lamp replacement. With an IP20 rating, this fitting is designed for dry indoor use only. Install it in a modern hallway, office or kitchen.

Great value for money, the Robus Fixed Downlight is supplied complete with a bracket, terminal block and lamp-holder. A separately available intumescent fire hood may be required to comply with Part B Fire Safety requirements (England and Wales). This preserves the integrity of a ceiling in the event of a fire, and is usually necessary where recessed lights are installed below an occupied floor.

Carrying an 'F' mark, the Robus Fixed Downlight can be mounted onto a 'normally flammable' surface. This includes most regular building materials such as plasterboard, masonry or wood. Easily flammable materials are incompatible. A minimum 0.5m distance is required from the nearest illuminated object.

Class II double insulated

As a Class 2 double-insulated fitting, the Robus Fixed Downlight does not require a connection to earth during installation. This extends its suitability to properties without an earthed lighting circuit.

Bulb requirements

The Robus Fixed Downlight accommodates a 50W maximum GU10 or GZ10 halogen lamp (sold separately). It has a GZ10 lamp-holder, which accepts either type of lamp.

A GZ10 is a dichroic version of a GU10, filtering much of its generated IR heat through the back of the lamp rather than projecting it in the beam. This is useful when lighting heat-sensitive items like artworks or food. Although a GZ10 does not theoretically fit into a bevelled GU10 lamp-holder for safety reasons, please double-check suitability against manufacturer's instructions before use.

An LED GU10 can also be selected for this fitting, which is naturally missing significant IR heat or UV radiation in its beam. An LED retrofit lamp will reduce energy consumption over a halogen by 80-90%, as well as lasting much longer. A return on the higher initial investment is assured.
