Astro Blanco Recessed Downlight - Round

The Blanco Recessed Downlight from Astro has an inconspicuous design, with the lamp set back from the ceiling in a circular cut-out. The fitting has a white plaster finish for seamless blending with many ceilings. It requires minimal filling after installation. This IP20-rated luminaire is suitable for bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways, kitchens and offices.

With its 'F' certification, the Blanco Recessed Downlight can be directly mounted onto any 'normally flammable' ceiling. This is defined by a minimum 200°C ignition point, and includes standard building materials such as masonry, plasterboard or wood. Easily flammable materials like polystyrene are unsuitable.

To comply with Part B Building Regulations (Fire Safety), a separate fire hood may be needed when installing the Blanco Recessed Downlight. This is always the case where a light fitting compromises the fire rating of a ceiling (ceilings are normally fire rated if they are below an occupied floor). Lyco does not sell a sufficiently large fire hood for this product—please consult a qualified electrician to discuss your requirements.

As a Class 1 fitting, the Blanco Recessed Downlight must be connected to electrical earth during installation.

Bulb requirements

The Blanco Recessed Downlight requires a 50W maximum halogen GU10 bulb (sold separately).

A retrofitting LED GU10 can also be used with this fitting, which will yield 80-90% energy savings over halogen lighting. Lifespan will also be many times longer.
