Astro Kyo Ceramic Wall Light

The Kyo Ceramic Wall Light comes from top British lighting designer and supplier, Astro, and features an attractive contemporary design with a smooth white finish. Designed to be used in its native state, the Kyo can also be painted if desired with high quality emulsion paint.

A delightful light fitting for offices, corridors, waiting rooms, receptions, lounges, dining rooms, or bedrooms, the stylish Kyo Ceramic Wall Light produces a gorgeous up-and-down lighting effect. An IP20 Ingress Protection rating signifies a complete lack of protection against water, so this is a fitting best not installed in bathrooms or washrooms.

The Kyo Ceramic Wall Light can be directly mounted on a normally flammable surface, which includes any regular building surface with an ignition point above 200°C.

Class 2 double insulated

Because it's a Class 2 double-insulated fitting, the Kyo Ceramic Wall Light requires no connection to electrical earth during installation. This extends its compatibility to properties without an earthed lighting circuit, which is occasionally the case in older buildings (1960s and earlier).

Bulb requirements

A maximum 60W incandescent GLS bulb with E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap is accommodated by the Kyo Ceramic Wall Light (sold separately).

Since incandescent bulbs have largely been phased out in recent years by EU legislation, Lyco recommend an energy-saving halogen lamp as an economical alternative. Generally this option will offer a 20-30% reduction in energy usage, and has twice the lifespan.

For even greater energy savings, a CFL or LED alternative can be selected. An LED retrofitting 60W equivalent GLS bulb will offer over 80% cheaper running costs against an incandescent counterpart. The lifespan is also phenomenal, at up to 50,000 hours.
