Searchlight American Diner Flush Ceiling Light - Antique Brass

The American Diner Flush from Searchlight pairs an attractive antique brass surround with an eye-catching ribbed glass diffuser. The finish of the diffuser helps to cut out glare whilst still allowing a sparkling light. With a modest 150mm height this stylish luminaire is perfect for low-ceiling rooms, where a pendant may take up too much space.

Carrying an IP44 Ingress Protection rating, the American Diner Flush can be installed in a bathroom if required. Its water-resistant sealing makes it suitable for positioning in zones 1, 2 or outside zones of a bathroom, in accordance with IEE/IET wiring regulations. Capable of withstanding splashes of water, this fitting should not be subjected to water jets.

Aside from its bathroom potential, the American Diner Flush is a great choice for traditional kitchens, dining rooms, hallways or bedrooms. Other items in this range are available from Lyco, allowing easy creation of a co-ordinated lighting scheme.

Bulb requirements

The American Diner Flush Fitting takes 2 x 40W maximum candle bulbs (sold separately), with E14 Small Edison Screw (SES) caps.

Since incandescent bulbs have been mostly phased out by EU legislation, Lyco recommend energy-saving halogen candles as economical alternatives. These will normally consume 20-30% less energy, and last twice as long.

For a slightly greater initial investment, low-energy fluorescent or LED candles offer substantial savings in running and maintenance costs over filament bulbs. Typically they use 70-90% fewer watts, and in the case of LED bulbs may last as long as 50,000 hours.
