Batten Lights

When it comes to office lighting and industrial spaces that need to be lit brightly and effectively, there are few types of lighting that are more classic than batten lights. These strips of light are compact and slim, and are available in different lengths, allowing you to choose the perfect size and fill the space with diffuse light that is close to daylight.

For those areas where personnel are sensitive to lighting or require different colour temperatures at different times of the day, there are battens that allow you to select either cool white, warm white or daylight lighting. If there is a need to avoid even the smallest amount of flickering, then a high-frequency batten light is the answer.

Although batten lights traditionally used fluorescent tube bulbs, these types are now being replaced by businesses. LED styles last much longer and use much less power than older fluorescent styles, which allows businesses to save on electricity bills as well as minimise maintenance, as once they are in place, LED batten lights don’t usually need replacing for several years — even if they are used around the clock. Despite the requirement for batten lights being simple and functional, there are plenty of additional features that can be found in many models. Certain areas have extra requirements, and there are batten lights that are weatherproof and fitted with backup batteries, allowing them to continue to provide lighting should the power be cut unexpectedly. Further safety features include shatterproof technology, non-corrosive casings and vandal-resistant cases — perfect if they are to be installed in places that are open to the public, where moving goods or equipment poses a potential risk, or just in spaces that are unattended.
