Elstead Provence Rise and Fall Ceiling Pendant Light - Polished Nickel

The Provence Rise-and-Fall Pendant has a design that can be traced back at least 80 or 90 years to France. Unlike most pendants, a rise and fall fitting permits easy height adjustment after installation. Lifting the shade creates a widely spread light for overall illumination, whilst lowering it creates a more focused light for purposes such as dining.

Beautifully finished in polished nickel, the Provence Rise-and-Fall Pendant has a rustic look that will enhance any traditional kitchen or dining room. Supplied with a black corded cable, the shade has an impressively long maximum drop of 1800mm. A low-hanging lampshade over a dining table helps create a feeling of personal space and intimacy, and is useful for this purpose in a busy caf or restaurant environment.

Bulb requirements

The Provence Rise-and-Fall Pendant requires a 100W GLS bulb (sold separately) with an E27 Edison Screw cap.

Since incandescent bulbs have been mostly phased out by EU legislation, Lyco recommend an energy-saving halogen bulb as an economical alternative. This uses 20-30% less energy than an incandescent bulb, and typically lasts twice as long.

For extra eye-catching effect, a decorative filament bulb may be used. This differs from an ordinary bulb with its almost mesmerising patterned filament. Many such bulbs also have a warmer-than-average colour temperature, which creates an especially relaxing light.
