Nordlux Blokhus Copper Outdoor Wall Light

The Blokhus Wall Light from Danish lighting maestros, Nordlux, is a beautiful outdoor luminaire constructed from non-lacquered copper. A glass dome diffuser is protected at the centre of the fitting, and with an IP54 rating you can be sure of robust resistance to dust and rain.

Please note: once outside this fitting will begin to oxidise, changing colour from its initial bright metallic hue to a darker iridescent brown and eventually forming a protective green-blue verdigris patina. This is considered part of copper's unique charm. The speed of this oxidisation process will depend on environmental conditions; in coastal areas it is relatively quick, whereas inland it will be slower.

With this in mind, the Blokhus Wall Light can be installed in any UK location, including coastal sites. It makes a great choice in situations where visual appeal is important, so hospitality venues and homes are natural candidates.

Bulb requirements

A maximum 60W GLS bulb with an E27 Edison Screw (ES) cap is required by the Nordlux Blokhus Wall Light (sold separately).

Since incandescent bulbs have now mostly been phased out by EU legislation, Lyco recommend an energy-saving halogen bulb for this fitting. Typically this will save you 20-30% in running costs, in addition to offering double the lifespan of the older technology.
