Eterna Downlight Converter - White

The Eterna Downlight Converter allows you to easily convert existing R50, R64 and R80 downlight or eyeball fittings so they accept GU10 or low-voltage MR16 spotlights.

Supplied with ceramic GU10 and low-voltage GU5.3 (MR16) lamp-holders, the Eterna Downlight Converter is usable with either type of spotlight. One advantage in this conversion is in achieving an extremely neat, low-profile finish.

GU10 mains-powered spotlights are a popular form of lamp, available with a variety of beam angles, colour temperatures, and using various modern technologies.

Low-voltage MR16 spotlights have a very diverse range of beam widths, and tend to emit a noticeably crisper light than mains equivalents. Halogen MR16 lamps also often have a cooler beam than a GU10, dissipating much of their IR heat through the back of the lamp (except aluminium-coated models).

Please note: low-voltage conversion requires a 12V transformer (available separately).

The Eterna Downlight Converter is available from Lyco in a choice of finishes.

Installation

The Eterna Downlight Converter has a 150mm diameter and is compatible with any existing max 140mm diameter cut-out for easy installation.

The Downlight Converter is mountable onto any normally flammable surface, which includes regular building surfaces such as wood, plasterboard, and masonry. It is unsuitable for use on highly flammable materials such as polystyrene or textiles.

An IP20 rating in this fitting signifies no protection against water, so it is suitable for use only in dry, indoor areas.

Bulb requirements

The Eterna Downlight Converter requires a maximum 50W GU10 or low-voltage MR16 GU5.3 spotlight bulb (available separately).

The Eterna Downlight Converter is incompatible with GZ10 spotlights.
