GLS bulbs are ‘general lighting service’ bulbs usually used as non-specialist forms of everyday lighting. A typical household bulb, formerly incandescent, would be regarded as a GLS bulb, so our colour GLS range is a collection of everyday bulbs but with extraordinary colour. Choice is paramount when it comes to our range of Colour GLS bulbs.
Our range of solid-coloured GLS bulbs includes amber, blue, green, pink, red, white, and yellow lights at the time of writing, so the permutations are endless.
Festoon light bulbs
These low wattage incandescent GLS bulbs are extremely affordable, highly effective, and are ideal for purposes such as festoon lighting at parties and weddings. If you’re a professional party organiser, these make a great choice. You can expect a typical incandescent lifespan of 1,000 hours, which is likely to serve you for at least one year of regular use.
More specialist bulbs are also sometimes available, including a Fire Glow bulb for use with gas or electric fires, and a blue-coated daylight bulb for natural task-oriented illumination. Remember that incandescent lighting is the form of lighting that most naturally resembles daylight - it has a continuous spectrum of colour that, coupled with a daylight colour temperature, is as close to the real thing as you’re likely to get! Incandescent lamps have a CRI of 100 by default, and the daylight-balanced variety is especially useful for detail work or reading.
