Emergency Conversion Packs
With an emergency conversion pack you can convert a regular low voltage or low powered light fitting into an emergency light, providing up to three hours of potentially life-saving illumination in the event of a power cut. These conversion packs enable you to increase safety in your building without adversely affecting the look of your existing lighting arrangement.
Maintained or non-maintained
Emergency conversion packs can be maintained or non-maintained, and sometimes can be installed as either. Maintained emergency lighting is usually permanently switched on and stays on in the event of a power cut, whilst non-maintained lighting only switches on when mains power fails. Many public buildings are required by law to install maintained emergency lighting, whereas a non-maintained solution is more common in a workplace.
All emergency conversion packs come with a battery, which will typically provide up to three hours of illumination depending upon wattage. An LED emergency conversion pack typically also includes a dedicated LED driver. Installation instructions are also par for the course.
