The history of Energizer Batteries began with the 1896 invention of the consumer battery by W.H. Lawrence. Weighing in at 3lbs (1.36 kg), it was used to power home telephones. Not long after, a Russian inventor named Conrad Hubert was integrating a battery into the world’s first torch - the ‘Ever Ready Electric Flash Light’, as it became known.
In 1905, Lawrence and Hubert teamed up to form The American Ever Ready Company, which is the earliest ancestor of Energizer Batteries. Having changed hands several times, the parent company of the Eveready Battery Company is now Energizer Holdings, Inc. Energizer was introduced as an Eveready brand in 1980, and made famous at the end of the 1980s by the ‘Energizer bunny’ advertising campaign.
Specialising in power accessories and a wide range of alkaline, lithium, rechargeable, and specialist batteries, Energizer is a name you can trust whenever you need durable and reliable performance. Its great-value batteries have a long shelf life, too, making them ideal for professional maintenance departments as well as consumers.
