Bulb requirements

The Searchlight Aluminium Bollard requires a 60W maximum GLS bulb (sold separately) with an E27 Edison Screw (ES) base.

Since incandescent bulbs have been phased out by EU legislation, Lyco recommends an energy-saving halogen bulb as an inexpensive alternative. This uses 20-30% less energy than an original filament bulb and lasts twice as long.

For substantial savings in running and maintenance costs, an LED retrofit bulb is advisable. It will typically use 80-90% fewer watts than any halogen or incandescent bulb and last many times longer. The higher upfront cost is certain to be easily repaid.
