Long Lasting Light Source
LEDs last on average for up to 50,000 hours, which means that if they are used for only a few hours each night then they can last up to 30 years. Their long life makes them ideal for use in lights which are difficult to access for maintenance and bulb replacement, such as walkover lights fitted into tarmac, concrete or decking or pond lights installed underwater.
As LEDs are also resistant to impact and vibration, they are perfect for walkover lights and exterior wall and brick lights for buildings that suffer from heavy traffic vibrations. They can also be used in bathrooms and kitchens.
No Ultraviolet or Infrared Radiation
LEDs are perfect for decking and garden lights as they don't emit any ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) radiation. This means that no heat is emitted, and they remain cool to the touch, however long it they are left on. As such they are a safer choice for busy areas where people may come into contact with the light fitting.
You can place the lights right next to garden furniture or sensitive plants and they will not be damaged by the light produced. As insects are not attracted by the light from LEDs, they won't swarm around these fittings so they are ideal for use in hotel, pub or restaurant gardens in summer evenings where people want to enjoy being outdoors untroubled by annoying flying insects.
