Legrand began supplying electrical fittings in the UK back in the early seventies. Today it is the UK market leader in cable management systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications, including sports arenas and entertainment complexes.
The head office in Birmingham is served by a good geographic spread of sites all over UK including three distribution centres at London, Leeds, Dunstable and Glasgow, a customer services office at West Bromwich and its manufacturing plant in Scarborough. Through acquisition, Legrand owns the brands Arena-Walsall, Salamandre and Swifts.
Although much of Legrand's products are hidden from view once installed, they have recently moved into the area of wiring accessories and Voice Data and Image Accessories (VDI). Its new Synergy range was five years in research and development, and boasts metal switchplates with hidden screws and slim contoured plates and a patented safety-socket that is the world's first true 3-pin safety shutter, meaning that all three pins must be inserted before the electricity can be activated.
