Honeywell can trace its original roots back to 1885, and now employs more than 100,000 people in 95 countries. In the UK it has 7,000 employees and around 50 offices and facilities. Dave Cote, the Chairman and CEO since 2002 encourages focus on five initiatives: Growth, Productivity, Cash, People and Operations. It attributes its success to the quality of its products and the highly ethical conduct of its employees.
Yet alongside this commercial success is a genuine philanthropy, and the company has a global scheme called Hometown Solutions to volunteer resources on community projects in the areas of family safety and security, housing and shelter and science and maths education.
