Firemaster Extinguisher Ltd is a manufacturer and supplier of portable fire extinguishers and fire safety related products. Quality is second to none, as evidenced by its ISO 9001 certification and the fact that it won major contracts to supply the Ministry of Defence with equipment for military vehicles. Firemaster sells its products in over 30 countries, and exports account for approximately a third of its sales.
The company was established in 1958 by John Appleton who set about developing safer fire protection for racing and sports cars. Since then, production has expanded to incorporate Marine, Home, Leisure and Industrial/Commercial markets as well as Automotive.
Its wide range of portable fire extinguishers range from small 0.6kg up to heavy-duty 9kg. They are all approved to European Standards and Kitemarked. The range includes BC and ABC powder, AFFFF Foam, Water and Carbon Dioxide models.
It also manufactures Powder and Gas-based automatic extinguishing systems for high-risk areas such as engine rooms, computer rooms and heavy plant. It was a pioneer in the development and manufacture of aerosol type fire extinguishers.
Fire safety equipment includes Fire blankets, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, First Aid Kits and Signage.
Nearly all production is carried out at its factory and warehouse in Lewisham, South East London, which was fully automated in 2004 to achieve even greater efficiency and quality.
